Vintage spectacular toaq from Afghanistan, made of old mixed metals showing different techniques. Hammer work, engraved, embossed, chased, all nicely done in a complex and huge piece.
All the necklace is decorated with old glass stones in red, green and blue. The long dangling musical beads are related to the talismanic value of the piece. It´s believed that their sound when the woman walks or moves, keep the bad spirits away.
This piece will make a notorious beautiful necklace or a gorgeous piece to hang on your wall.
It weighs 268 grms. The height of the dangling beads is 9 cm. Widht of the semicircle is 17 cm.

One of a kind pieces from my collection, a wonderful Old Silver Necklace, probably coming from North Afghan Uzbek group. This piece has been made in the first half of the XX century.
This piece has an amuletic value. Central Asia women have the pre-islamic tradition of carrying amulets to protect themselves. Also jewellery has an enormous financial importance for the women and refers to her status on the society.
The colorful glass backing in burgundy colour, and the center of the pendant with false granulation can be classified as Kazak style. The fire gilding applique in all the pendants, made with gold dust, gives the piece a superbe elegant style.
Measures are: 134 grms, total length 66 cm. The big central pendant is 6cm by 7 cm width.
Price is 860 euros.

Unique old turkoman Tekke tribe amulet, used to keep sacred texts to protect the wearer from disease, evil eye and spirits. This holder may have carried Koran passages, the 99 names of God, or magical words. This piece is made of high purity silver, the chain also. This piece is about 70 years old.
The decoration is finely made with fire gilding applique, using gold powder; and cornelian stones. The use of cornelians or “Blood stone”, is believed to protect from bleeding, wounds and miscarriages.
We can find a similar piece on the book ” The Arts and Crafts of Turkestan”, page 128.
Measures are: 112 grs, the amulet is 14 cm with the dangling beads by 9 cm widht.

Here we have a gorgeous actual turkoman jewel made of alpaka, agate and turquoise beads.
The hamzas or named, they are used as a protective symbol for the women and also for the houses. Hamzas have been used as a talisman since ancient times by all the Mediterranean communities. It´s a shared symbol for jewish and muslim population.
Measures are 7,5 cm by 5 cm. Weighs 23 grs.

Unique old silver ring from Central Asia. Colourful glass backing and gallery wire technique. The small beads are red coral and turquoise beads. Impressive big piece, similar to the one shown on the page 127 of The Arts and Crafts of Turkestan. This ring can be classified as kazak style, maybe done by the Northen Afghan Uzbek group.
The measurements are: Weight 50 grms, height is 4 by 3 cm.

Unique Uzbek antique bracelet made of very good quality of silver. Exquisite applications of old turquoise beads, and three flat beads of cornaline. The cornaline is a kind of agate, widely present on Central Asia traditional jewellery. Really nice piece to wear and a rare item to add to your collection.

Beautiful turkoman old pendant in silver and exquisite gilded. The stone on the center is a cornaline agate, showing a nice dark orange color.
This pendant can be part of a bigger piece or just be worn with a nice silver or gold chain.
Measures are 8 cm height by 5,5 widht and it weighs 10 grms.

Huge Spectacular old Kazakhstan double ring.
This unique and rare jewel is a vintage piece made of silver and decorated with fire gilding. The design shows little flowers made with gold powder, and a mix of turquoise with red coral beads. The technique used on the sides is gallery wire, really nicely done by the artist.
Excellent quality of workmanship. One of a kind piece, an item not to miss in your ethnic collection.
